Here is where we store the used Adventist books. (See LNF Buying Used Books below for more details). There are seven rows, 35-45 feet long on each side. This picture shows about 5,000 books. Each book is placed on the shelves in numeric order by the serial number we assign when it is received in. The plastic bag keeps out moisture and dust. |
As orders are entered, picking tickets are printed and books pulled and brought in from the warehouses. They are then placed in boxes and transfered or “floated” down on rollers from the storage trailers to the Trafficking department for final packing and shipping. |
Many books are received on skids (a skid or pallet is 4’' x 4’) and holds from 1,000 to 10,000 books total, depending on size of the book. Our loading dock can handle 20 skids before they are stored in a warehouse. |
Each new title we produce is also stored for quick picking in our main warehouse. This allows us to pull orders very fast. We ship all orders received by 10 A.M. the same day 95% of the time and 99% within our traditional 24 hour shipping schedule. |
The bulk copies of a title are placed placed on pallets or on shelves for fast access as needed. We have the capacity to hold 300,000 copies in this manner and can increase storage space in a matter of days as needed. |
